Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional toppings: herbs, tomatoes, olives

Instructions

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Spread the dough onto a baking sheet and use your fingers to create dimples.
  8. Add your desired toppings.
  9. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For best results, allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing for optimal texture.
