Description

A delightful banana bread recipe that transforms ripe bananas into a sweet and comforting loaf.


Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mash your ripe bananas thoroughly.
  4. Add in the melted butter and mix well.
  5. Incorporate the granulated sugar, stirring until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Crack in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  7. Stir in the vanilla extract for added flavor.
  8. In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  9. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, folding gently until just combined.
  10. If using nuts, fold them into the batter at this stage.
  11. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, using a spatula to spread it evenly.
  12. Tap the pan gently on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Notes

For best results, use very ripe bananas and ensure not to overmix the batter to maintain a fluffy texture.
