Description

Discover how to make a flavorful Witches Brew Green Pea Soup that will bewitch your taste buds! This easy recipe is perfect for a spooky Halloween dinner.

Ingredients

  • 450g frozen peas
  • 15ml vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 5ml garlic puree
  • 450g beef bacon, chopped
  • 480ml hot water
  • 2 vegetable stock cubes

Instructions

  1. Warm up a large pot with a splash of vegetable oil.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic puree to the pot. Sauté until the onion becomes soft and see-through, around 5 minutes.
  3. Toss in the frozen peas and continue to stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  4. Mix the vegetable stock cubes with the hot water until dissolved, then pour into the pot. Let it come to a boil, then lower the heat and let it gently cook for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Blend the soup until smooth using a stick blender, or carefully transfer it in portions to a blender and puree until smooth.
  6. In a separate pan, cook the chopped beef bacon with a little oil for 5 minutes until it is done.
  7. Gently reheat the soup until it is thoroughly warmed.
  8. Serve the soup into bowls or a fun cauldron mug, garnish with the bacon pieces, and savor the flavors!

Notes

  • Consider using beef broth for a richer flavor instead of vegetable stock.
  • Enhance the soup with a touch of smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  • To maintain the peas’ color and freshness, avoid overcooking them.
