Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
- 3 cups chocolate chips (semisweet and dark recommended)
- Optional for topping: extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients: combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Combine the dry and wet mixtures, folding in the chocolate chips.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop the dough and shape it into thick balls, placing them on the baking sheets.
- Bake until edges turn golden brown while keeping the centers soft.
- Allow cookies to cool briefly before transferring to a wire rack.
