Ingredients
- 5 pounds (1134 g) ground beef
- 5 cup (120 ml) chopped onion
- 5 cup (120 ml) chopped green bell pepper
- 5 cup (120 ml) chopped tomato
- 1 cup (240 ml) no-salt-added tomato sauce
- 7 tablespoons (105 ml) BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) prepared yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vinegar
- 5 teaspoon (3 ml) celery seed
- 5 teaspoon (3 ml) ground black pepper
- 5 teaspoon (3 ml) red pepper flakes, or to taste
- 8 hamburger bun, split and toasted
Instructions
- Warm a nonstick pan over medium flame. Sauté the ground beef, onion, green bell pepper, and tomato in the heated pan until the beef is browned and crumbly, roughly 5 minutes.
- Mix in the tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, yellow mustard, vinegar, celery seed, black pepper, and red pepper flakes with the beef mixture in the pan. Lower the heat and let it gently simmer, stirring now and then, for 10 minutes.
- Spoon the beef mixture onto the toasted hamburger buns and serve.
