Description

A classic recipe for thick and chewy chocolate chip cookies that evoke childhood memories and bring warmth to every home.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups semisweet or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop the dough into balls and place them on the lined baking sheets.
  8. For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chilling the dough enhances flavor and thickness. Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for varied flavor profiles.
