Description

A delicious and nostalgic banana bread recipe made with ripe bananas, butter, and warming spices, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it well or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas thoroughly in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
  5. Mix in the sugar until smooth and slightly lighter in color.
  6. Crack in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  7. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  8. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
  9. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing just until the flour disappears.
  10. If using, fold in the nuts.
  11. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  12. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

For best results, use super ripe bananas and avoid overmixing the batter.
