Description
A classic comfort food dish featuring juicy patties made from ground beef, served with a savory gravy that evokes nostalgia.
Ingredients
- 1 (10 ½ ounce) can Campbell’s French onion soup, divided
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
- ½ cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, half of the onion soup, dry breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and form into patties.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the patties. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until nicely browned.
- Remove the patties and set aside. In the same skillet, add the remaining onion soup and flour, stirring to combine.
- Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve the Salisbury steak with gravy.
Notes
Experiment with seasoning and allow the patties to rest after cooking for better flavor and moisture.
