Description

Delicious teriyaki beef skewers that are sweet, savory, and perfect for summer grilling with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs top sirloin steak, sliced thinly
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced beef in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In another bowl, combine dark brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, white sugar, sesame seeds, and BBQ sauce. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Pour the marinade over the sliced beef, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, up to 24 hours.
  4. Skewer about six slices of beef onto each skewer stick.
  5. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, monitoring for flare-ups.
  7. Serve on a platter with extra sauce on the side and sesame seeds sprinkled on top.

Notes

To check for doneness, use a meat thermometer aiming for 145°F for medium-rare. Pair with grilled vegetables or coleslaw.
