Delicious teriyaki beef skewers that are sweet, savory, and perfect for summer grilling with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs top sirloin steak, sliced thinly
- ½ cup dark brown sugar
- ⅓ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
Instructions
- Place the sliced beef in a large mixing bowl.
- In another bowl, combine dark brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, white sugar, sesame seeds, and BBQ sauce. Whisk until well blended.
- Pour the marinade over the sliced beef, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, up to 24 hours.
- Skewer about six slices of beef onto each skewer stick.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F.
- Grill the skewers for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, monitoring for flare-ups.
- Serve on a platter with extra sauce on the side and sesame seeds sprinkled on top.
Notes
To check for doneness, use a meat thermometer aiming for 145°F for medium-rare. Pair with grilled vegetables or coleslaw.
