Description

A warm and hearty casserole combining savory meatballs, creamy sauce, and tender egg noodles, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 8 ounces egg noodles (cooked according to package instructions)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, allspice, and nutmeg. Mix until just combined, then shape into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add meatballs, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter, then whisk in flour and cook until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream until smooth, then add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. In a large bowl, combine cooked egg noodles and meatballs. Pour the sauce over the mixture and toss to coat. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Do not overmix the meatball mixture to ensure tender results. Use fresh herbs to enhance flavor.
