Description

Discover how to make delicious stuffed banana peppers with our easy-to-follow recipe. Learn the secrets to creating a flavorful dish your whole family will love!

Ingredients

  • 10 banana peppers (or more as needed, depending on the size)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (15 ml)
  • 8 oz beef or steak, finely chopped (225 g)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (5 g)
  • 1 tsp paprika (2 g)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 oz shredded gouda cheese (or use your favorite melty cheese) (115 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Cut the banana peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. Place them on a large baking tray.
  3. Warm the olive oil in a medium-sized skillet and add the finely chopped beef. Sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for approximately 5 minutes, or until the meat is done to your preference.
  4. Fill the hollowed peppers with the cooked beef mixture, then sprinkle shredded gouda cheese on top of each one.
  5. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Alternatively, grill the peppers for 15 minutes or broil for 6-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Take them out of the oven and transfer to serving dishes.
  7. If you like, garnish with chopped green onions, chili flakes, and a drizzle of hot sauce.

Notes

  • Note: For a vegetarian option, replace the beef with crumbled tofu or cooked lentils.
  • Second note: Enhance the heat by adding diced jalapenos or red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
  • Third note: Get creative by using different cheeses like cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack for unique flavors.
