Description

A delightful dessert featuring a crunchy pretzel base, creamy layer, and vibrant strawberry topping that captures the essence of summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz strawberry Jell-O mix
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 16 oz strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 1/2 cups salted pretzels, crushed
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, dissolve the strawberry Jell-O mix in boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved, then add the sliced strawberries and set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tbsp of sugar in a mixing bowl. Press into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish and bake for 10 minutes. Let cool completely.
  3. Whip the softened cream cheese until smooth, mix in 1/2 cup sugar, and gently fold in the Cool Whip until fully blended.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust, then pour the cooled Jell-O mixture on top. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours to set.

Notes

To enhance the dish, consider adding chopped nuts to the pretzel crust. Use frozen strawberries if fresh ones are unavailable, ensuring they are thawed and drained.
