A delightful dessert that combines a salty pretzel crust, creamy filling, and fresh strawberries for a perfect summer treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugary sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup whipped topping
- 1 package (6 oz) strawberry gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar. Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool completely.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread this mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in fresh strawberries and allow to cool slightly.
- Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Consider chilling the dish overnight to improve flavor absorption.
