Description
A delightful and airy strawberry mousse paired with a luscious strawberry sauce, perfect for any celebration.
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, pureed
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, pour 1 cup of heavy cream and add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the cream and sugar on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. Set the whipped cream aside in the refrigerator to keep it cool.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 tablespoon of gelatin powder with 2 tablespoons of water. Allow the gelatin to bloom for about 5 minutes.
- After blooming, heat the mixture over low heat until the gelatin dissolves completely. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
- In a blender, puree 1 1/2 cups of fresh strawberries. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and mix until combined.
- Once the gelatin has cooled, gently fold it into the strawberry puree.
- Carefully fold the strawberry mixture into the whipped cream, being cautious not to deflate it.
- Spoon the mousse mixture into serving cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
- For the sauce, combine 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries in a saucepan. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves and the strawberries soften.
- Drizzle the strawberry sauce over the mousse before serving and enjoy!
Notes
