Description

A light and airy strawberry mousse paired with sweet strawberry sauce, perfect for gatherings or a delightful family treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced


Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, pour 1 cup of heavy cream and add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
  2. Beat the cream and sugar on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.
  3. Set the whipped cream aside in the refrigerator.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine 1 tablespoon of gelatin powder with 2 tablespoons of water and allow it to bloom for 5 minutes.
  5. Heat the bloomed gelatin over low heat until dissolved, then cool to room temperature.
  6. Puree 1 1/2 cups of fresh strawberries in a blender and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
  7. Fold the cooled gelatin mixture into the strawberry puree.
  8. Gently fold the strawberry mixture into the whipped cream.
  9. Spoon the mousse into serving cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  10. For the strawberry sauce, combine 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries in a saucepan and heat until the sugar dissolves.
  11. Let the sauce cool and then drizzle it over the set mousse before serving.

Notes

Use cold heavy cream for better whipping results. Fresh, ripe strawberries yield the best flavor.
