Description
A light and airy strawberry mousse paired with sweet strawberry sauce, perfect for gatherings or a delightful family treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, pureed
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, pour 1 cup of heavy cream and add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
- Beat the cream and sugar on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.
- Set the whipped cream aside in the refrigerator.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 tablespoon of gelatin powder with 2 tablespoons of water and allow it to bloom for 5 minutes.
- Heat the bloomed gelatin over low heat until dissolved, then cool to room temperature.
- Puree 1 1/2 cups of fresh strawberries in a blender and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
- Fold the cooled gelatin mixture into the strawberry puree.
- Gently fold the strawberry mixture into the whipped cream.
- Spoon the mousse into serving cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
- For the strawberry sauce, combine 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries in a saucepan and heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Let the sauce cool and then drizzle it over the set mousse before serving.
Notes
Use cold heavy cream for better whipping results. Fresh, ripe strawberries yield the best flavor.
