Ingredients
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) vanilla cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping, thawed
- 1 cup strawberry puree
- 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the cake mix package directions. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and bake according to package instructions. Allow cooling completely once baked.
- Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping and strawberry puree.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled cake, filling the holes.
- Top with fresh strawberries and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs.
- Chill the cake before serving to allow flavors to meld.
