Ingredients
- 454 g fresh strawberries, chopped (1 lb.)
- 200 g digestive or ginger snaps crumbs (2 cups)
- 60 ml melted butter (1/4 cup)
- 12 g granulated sugar (optional) (1 tbsp)
- 2 8 ounce (227 g) blocks of cream cheese, softened
- 396 g can of sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- 5 ml vanilla essence (1 tsp)
- Cool Whip or whipped cream for topping (optional)
- Extra strawberries, chocolate shavings, chopped nuts etc (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the digestive or ginger snap crumbs with the melted butter and optional sugar. Place aside.
- In a larger bowl, use a mixer to blend the softened cream cheese until it becomes smooth. Incorporate the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla essence, mixing thoroughly until well combined.
- Begin by layering a small portion of the cream cheese mixture, then add half of the crumb mixture, followed by a layer of chopped strawberries.
- Continue by adding another layer of the cream cheese mixture, followed by the remaining crumb mixture.
- Optionally, finish with a topping of whipped cream or Cool Whip, and garnish with extra fresh strawberries or other desired toppings.
