Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 8 ounces penne or fusilli pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup low-sodium vegetable broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté diced onion until translucent, about five minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for one more minute.
- Add ground beef, cooking until browned, around six to eight minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile, boil salted water in a separate pot. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Pour vegetable broth into the skillet with the cooked beef and stir in heavy cream.
- Simmer for about three minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Combine cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, stirring gently to coat evenly. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve immediately and top with extra Parmesan.

For extra flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese and consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or spinach.
