Description

A comforting stovetop creamy pasta dish featuring ground beef and rich flavors, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces penne or fusilli pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium vegetable broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté diced onion until translucent, about five minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for one more minute.
  4. Add ground beef, cooking until browned, around six to eight minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Meanwhile, boil salted water in a separate pot. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  6. Pour vegetable broth into the skillet with the cooked beef and stir in heavy cream.
  7. Simmer for about three minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
  8. Combine cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, stirring gently to coat evenly. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  9. Serve immediately and top with extra Parmesan.

Notes

For extra flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese and consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or spinach.
