Description

A classic dish bringing together the rich flavors of steak and the comforting texture of potatoes, enhanced by a creamy roasted garlic sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 steaks (your choice of cut)
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wrap the head of garlic in aluminum foil and roast it in the oven for about 30-40 minutes until soft.
  3. While the garlic is roasting, boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  4. Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the steaks to your desired doneness (typically 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare).
  5. In a separate pan, melt the butter and add the boiled potatoes, sautéing them until golden brown.
  6. Once the garlic is done, squeeze the roasted garlic cloves into a bowl, add heavy cream, salt, and pepper, and blend until smooth.
  7. Serve the steaks with the sautéed potatoes and drizzle the creamy roasted garlic sauce on top. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For best results, allow steak to rest at room temperature before cooking. Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
