Description

Deliciously creamy spinach and ricotta cheese stuffed in tender pasta shells, baked with zesty marinara sauce for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup cooked and chopped spinach
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cooked spinach, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  4. Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese and spinach mixture.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish and cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a twist, consider adding cooked ground beef or turkey to the cheese filling. Use fresh spinach for the best flavor.
