Deliciously creamy spinach and ricotta cheese stuffed in tender pasta shells, baked with zesty marinara sauce for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 12 large pasta shells
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup cooked and chopped spinach
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cooked spinach, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
- Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese and spinach mixture.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish and cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a twist, consider adding cooked ground beef or turkey to the cheese filling. Use fresh spinach for the best flavor.
