Description

Learn how to make a delicious Spicy Baked Feta with Tomatoes, Peppers, and Herbs that will tantalize your taste buds. Perfect for a savory meal or appetizer!

Ingredients

  • 15 oz (420 g) beef cheese block
  • 12 oz (340 g) cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Mezzetta Roasted Bell Pepper Strips
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Mezzetta Sweet Cherry Peppers
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) Mezzetta Tamed Jalapeño Peppers
  • 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) dried thyme
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) dried basil
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh basil, thinly sliced
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Serve with: crackers, baguette slices, pita chips, or vegetable crudités (e.g. sliced cucumber rounds)

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to heat up to 400°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved tomatoes with the three types of peppers, vegetable oil, dried basil, dried thyme, and the garlic slices.
  3. Put the block of beef cheese in a baking dish. Surround it with the tomato and pepper mixture, making sure to drizzle some of the leftover juices over the cheese.
  4. Transfer the baking dish to the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Then, broil the cheese for 1-2 minutes to achieve a slight browning effect.
  5. Take the dish out of the oven and garnish with fresh basil and a sprinkle of black pepper. Serve promptly with crackers, baguette slices, or vegetable crudités. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Try Mezzetta Hot Cherry Peppers for a spicier dish.
  • Experiment with goat cheese or brie for a unique flavor.
  • Add balsamic glaze for a touch of sweetness before serving.
