Description

A deliciously rich and moist sour cream chocolate loaf cake that provides the perfect treat for gatherings or an afternoon snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the sour cream, sugar, and butter until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
