Description

A comforting dish made with juicy patties smothered in savory onions and creamy gravy, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 suggested)
  • 2 medium onions, sliced thin
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil.
  2. Form ground beef into patties, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Place patties in the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
  4. Remove patties from the skillet and keep warm.
  5. In the same pan, add sliced onions. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until caramelized.
  6. Stir in the beef broth and cream of mushroom soup until well combined.
  7. Return the patties to the skillet, covering them with the onion mixture.
  8. Simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.

Notes

Let patties rest briefly after cooking for maximum juiciness. Serve with mashed potatoes or on a toasted bun.
