Description

Hearty and comforting Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes with a rich tomato sauce and savory spices, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 slices yellow cheese


Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Place the ground beef in the pan and season it with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Cook for 6-8 minutes, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon until browned.
  4. Transfer to the slow cooker with the rest of the ingredients. Stir to combine.
  5. Cook on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 6 hours.
  6. Spoon the meat onto the hamburger buns, topped with a slice of cheese, then serve.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Adjust seasoning to taste.
