Description

A comforting dish featuring tender beef tips slow-cooked in a rich gravy, perfect for bringing family together.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs beef tips
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil for browning
  • Mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the beef tips on all sides.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until soft.
  3. Transfer the beef and onion mixture to a slow cooker.
  4. Pour in beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  7. If a thicker gravy is desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  8. Serve the beef tips over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

For best results, use good-quality beef broth and ensure not to overcrowd the skillet while browning the beef.
