Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef tips
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil for browning
- Mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for serving
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the beef tips on all sides.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until soft.
- Transfer the beef and onion mixture to a slow cooker.
- Pour in beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the beef is tender.
- If a thicker gravy is desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Serve the beef tips over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
