Description

A comforting dish combining ground beef, savory Sloppy Joe sauce, and melted cheddar cheese on toasted French bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (15 ounce) can Sloppy Joe sauce
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  2. Cut the bread loaf in half lengthwise and place it on a lined baking sheet.
  3. Cook the diced onions in a large sauté pan with a little butter or oil for 3-4 minutes until soft.
  4. Add the ground beef and crumble until no longer pink.
  5. Drain any excess grease, then stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly over the bread halves and top with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the bread are toasty.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

Notes

Adjust seasonings to your taste and consider adding veggies like bell peppers for extra flavor.
