- 1 large onion, sliced
Instructions

- Toss the beef strips in the marinade, making sure they’re fully coated. Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat, add sliced onions, and sauté until soft and slightly caramelized. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove onions from the skillet and keep warm.
- Increase heat to high, add 2 tbsp of vegetable oil, and add the marinated beef strips in a single layer.
- Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until beef is browned and evenly cooked.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch.
- Pour the sauce over the beef in the skillet and simmer until thickened for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the sautéed onions back into the pan, stir to combine, and serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
For more flavor, allow meat to marinate for 2 hours. Serving with chili peppers can add a layer of heat.
