Description

A quick and flavorful stir-fried noodle dish that brings together beef, vegetables, and a savory sauce for a delightful meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) Noodles (Lo Mein, udon, or spaghetti)
  • 1 lb (450g) Boneless beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce (for marinating beef)
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch (for marinating beef)
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece Ginger, peeled and minced
  • 2 tablespoons Avocado or Canola Oil, divided
  • 1 medium head Broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 medium Carrots, julienned
  • 1 large Bell Pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium Onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • ¼ cup Oyster Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 Green Onions, thinly sliced (optional garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Seeds (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce and Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, whisk together low-sodium soy sauce, oyster sauce, toasted sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside. In another bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch and let it marinate.
  2. Cook the Noodles: Boil water, add the noodles, and cook according to package directions but undercook by 1 minute. Drain and rinse under cold water, tossing with sesame oil.
  3. Sear the Beef: Heat a wok or skillet over high heat, add oil, then the marinated beef. Sear undisturbed for 1-2 minutes per side until browned, then remove and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry the Vegetables: Lower heat to medium-high, add more oil and sauté onions for 1-2 minutes, then add broccoli and carrots for 3-4 minutes. Add garlic, ginger, and bell pepper, and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Combine and Sauce: Stir the sauce and pour over the vegetables, allowing it to bubble and thicken.
  6. The Final Toss: Add noodles and seared beef back to the pan, tossing to coat everything in the sauce.
  7. Serve Immediately: Transfer to dishes and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Maintain high heat for searing ingredients to enhance flavors. Customize vegetable choices as desired for variety.
