Ingredients
- Pizza Dough: Enough to cover a sheet pan
- Ground Beef, Turkey, or Plant-Based Alternative: 1 lb
- Taco Seasoning: 2 tbsp
- Water: 2 tbsp for simmering taco meat
- Shredded Cheese Blend: 1 1/2 cups (mix of cheddar and mozzarella)
- Diced Tomatoes or Salsa: 1/2 cup
- Black Beans or Corn: 1/2 cup
- Chopped Green Onions: 1/4 cup
- Chopped Fresh Cilantro: 1/4 cup
- Sour Cream: For garnishing
- Sliced Jalapeños: Optional
- Avocado Slices: Optional
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook your choice of ground beef, turkey, or a plant-based alternative until browned.
- Drain any excess fat, if necessary.
- Stir in taco seasoning along with 2 tablespoons of water, and simmer as it thickens and flavors meld.
- Lightly flour your surface and stretch or roll out the pizza dough to fit your sheet pan. Transfer the dough to the pan, pressing it into the corners for uniform baking.
- Spread the cooked taco meat evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle black beans or corn on top, followed by a generous layer of the cheese blend.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake the sheet pan for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once baked, remove the pizza and top with diced tomatoes, chopped green onions, and cilantro.
- Add optional garnishes like sliced jalapeños or dollops of sour cream to complete your dish.
Notes
For added crunch, bake your pizza slightly longer or broil it briefly at the end.
