Description

A comforting recipe for Salisbury steak meatballs, combining ground beef with flavorful ingredients, served with a creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • Oil for the skillet
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour (optional for sauce thickening)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Scoop about two tablespoons of mixture per meatball and roll into 1-inch balls.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear meatballs until browned on all sides (8-10 minutes), then transfer to a plate.
  4. In the same skillet, whisk in flour until golden brown (about 2 minutes). Gradually add beef broth and simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in sour cream until smooth. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Return meatballs to skillet and simmer on low for 10 minutes to meld flavors.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. For a smoother sauce, blend the broth and sour cream mixture.
