Description

Delightful rolls of bread stuffed with juicy sausage, dipped in an egg mixture, and cooked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • 12 breakfast sausage links (pre-cooked or raw)
  • 12 slices sandwich bread (crusts removed)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 23 tbsp butter (for cooking)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausages: If using raw sausages, follow package directions to cook them fully. Once done, set them aside to cool slightly.
  2. Prep the bread: Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread. Place a cooked sausage at one end and roll up tightly.
  3. Make the egg mixture: In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until well combined.
  4. Dip & cook: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, making sure to coat all sides and place it in the skillet seam-side down.
  5. Fry until golden: Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning to brown evenly. Add more butter to the skillet as needed to ensure the roll-ups cook evenly.
  6. Serve: If desired, dust with powdered sugar and serve warm alongside maple syrup for dipping.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with the egg mixture by adding more cinnamon or flavored sausage links for a savory twist.
