Delicious chocolate cookies with gooey caramel and a hint of sea salt, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel candy, chopped
- Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped caramel.
- Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt while still warm.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies. Consider swapping regular chocolate chips for dark chocolate for a richer flavor.
