Savory Salisbury steak meatballs simmered in a rich beef broth, perfect for a cozy family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- Mashed potatoes for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form mixture into meatballs.
- In a skillet, brown the meatballs on all sides.
- In a crockpot, add beef broth and mushrooms, then place browned meatballs on top. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- If a thicker gravy is desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and stir into the sauce while cooking until thickened.
- Serve meatballs over mashed potatoes and enjoy your meal!
Notes
For added flavor, customize the Worcestershire sauce with garlic powder or fresh herbs. Adjust cornstarch for desired sauce thickness.
