Description
A comforting dish of hearty meatballs served over fluffy mashed potatoes, drenched in savory broth.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
- In a large skillet, brown the meatballs on all sides.
- Add the beef broth to the skillet and simmer until the meatballs are cooked through, about 15-20 minutes. If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the broth to thicken.
- To make mashed potatoes, boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and return to the pot.
- Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper to the potatoes and mash until smooth and creamy.
- Serve meatballs over mashed potatoes and enjoy!
Notes
For thicker broth, add cornstarch mixed with water. Consider using lean ground beef to reduce grease.
