Description

A comforting dish of hearty meatballs served over fluffy mashed potatoes, drenched in savory broth.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the meatballs on all sides.
  3. Add the beef broth to the skillet and simmer until the meatballs are cooked through, about 15-20 minutes. If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the broth to thicken.
  4. To make mashed potatoes, boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and return to the pot.
  5. Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper to the potatoes and mash until smooth and creamy.
  6. Serve meatballs over mashed potatoes and enjoy!

Notes

For thicker broth, add cornstarch mixed with water. Consider using lean ground beef to reduce grease.
