Description

Comforting Porcupine Meatballs made with ground beef, rice, and spices simmered in a rich tomato sauce, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, rice, egg, onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well until evenly combined.
  2. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. In a separate skillet, heat the tomato sauce over medium heat.
  4. Add the meatballs to the skillet and cover it.
  5. Cook for about 30 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Serve warm with additional tomato sauce if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, consider allowing the meat mixture to rest for 15-30 minutes before forming the meatballs.
