Comforting Porcupine Meatballs made with ground beef, rice, and spices simmered in a rich tomato sauce, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup rice
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, rice, egg, onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well until evenly combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a separate skillet, heat the tomato sauce over medium heat.
- Add the meatballs to the skillet and cover it.
- Cook for about 30 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve warm with additional tomato sauce if desired.
Notes
For added flavor, consider allowing the meat mixture to rest for 15-30 minutes before forming the meatballs.
