Ingredients
- 1.5 to 2 pounds fresh asparagus
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Rinse and prepare the asparagus by snapping off the tough parts.
- In a large bowl, add the asparagus and drizzle generously with olive oil. Toss to coat fully.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and black pepper evenly over the asparagus, mixing well to combine.
- Arrange the spears in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Generously sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese across the asparagus spears.
- Roast in the oven for 8-12 minutes, checking for doneness until tender-crisp and cheese is golden brown.
- Optional: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the asparagus before serving.
Notes
For best results, use thick asparagus spears and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
