A beautifully seared ribeye steak infused with garlic butter, perfect for a special occasion or a delightful meal at home.
Ingredients
- 2 ribeye steaks
- Salt
- Pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- Fresh herbs (such as thyme or rosemary) for garnish
Instructions
- Allow the steaks to come to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- Place the steaks in the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes without moving them until browned.
- Flip the steaks and add butter, garlic, and herbs to the skillet.
- Baste the steaks with the melted butter as they cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.
- Remove steaks from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Drizzle with the garlic butter sauce and garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
For the best results, use a meat thermometer to check for internal temperature. Aim for 130°F for medium-rare.
