A comforting one-pan dish featuring creamy orzo, savory chicken sausage, and tender broccoli.
Ingredients
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the orzo and chicken broth; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and add the broccoli. Cover and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is cooked and the broth is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and stir in the parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.
Notes
For added flavor, reserve some parmesan cheese for garnish. Consider using different vegetables like peas or spinach if desired.
