Description

A delicious and flavorful New York strip steak topped with rich garlic herb butter, perfect for special occasions or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 New York strip steak
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped

Instructions

  1. Let the steak sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Once the oil is hot, add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
  4. In the last minute of cooking, add butter, garlic, and herbs to the skillet. Spoon the melted butter over the steak.
  5. Remove the steak from the skillet, let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve with the garlic herb butter drizzled over top.

Notes

For better flavor, consider adding a splash of lemon juice before serving. Let the steak rest after cooking for the best texture.
