Description
Delightful mushroom cheese puff bites made with flaky puff pastry, sautéed cremini mushrooms, garlic, and sharp white cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
- 17.3 oz (2 sheets) puff pastry
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- 16 oz cremini mushrooms, diced
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 12 oz sharp white cheddar cheese, grated
Instructions
- Thaw the puff pastry sheets and lay them flat on a large cutting board. Roll them out slightly and cut each sheet into 9 equal squares.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a muffin pan.
- Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
- Dice the onion and garlic, then sauté them in the pan until the onion turns translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the diced mushrooms to the pan with the onions and garlic. Season with salt. Cook until mushrooms are tender, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess liquid.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and let it cool. Once cooled, add the cheese and stir.
- Place each puff pastry square into the prepared muffin cups, pressing gently to form cups. Fill each with 1 1/2 tablespoons of the mushroom mixture.
- Bake in the oven for 15-17 minutes, or until golden-brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
