Description

A flavorful Asian-inspired dish featuring tender beef strips in a sweet and savory sauce, complemented by fresh green onions and garlic.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch to create the marinade. Mix until smooth.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring each piece is coated. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef and cook until it is browned.
  5. Add the minced garlic, ginger, and chopped green onions to the pan.
  6. Pour any remaining marinade over the beef, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve hot over rice, garnished with extra green onions if desired.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add chili paste or red pepper flakes to the marinade. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
