Description
A delightful layered spaghetti dish with Italian sausage, marinara, and three types of cheese.
Ingredients
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, browned sausage, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Spread half of the spaghetti mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the spaghetti mixture.
- Add the remaining spaghetti mixture on top and finish with the rest of the mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Using high-quality marinara sauce enhances the dish. Consider adding vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrients.
