Description

A delightful layered spaghetti dish with Italian sausage, marinara, and three types of cheese.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, browned sausage, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread half of the spaghetti mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the spaghetti mixture.
  7. Add the remaining spaghetti mixture on top and finish with the rest of the mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Using high-quality marinara sauce enhances the dish. Consider adding vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrients.
