Description

Flavor-packed Korean BBQ meatballs served with a spicy mayo dip, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef or ground chicken
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • For the spicy mayo dip:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or chicken, panko breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and finely chopped green onions.
  2. Gently mix the ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Form the mixture into evenly sized meatballs (about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter).
  4. Cook the meatballs by baking, pan-searing, or grilling according to your preference.
  5. If baking, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through.
  6. Serve the meatballs with spicy mayo dip on the side.

Notes

Let the meat mixture rest for 20-30 minutes before cooking for the best flavor. Adjust the spiciness of the dip according to taste.
