Description

Delicious, succulent beef short ribs cooked in a Dutch oven for a melt-in-your-mouth experience.


Ingredients

  • 4 pounds beef short ribs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 bay leaf


Instructions

  1. Preheat Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Season short ribs with salt and pepper.
  2. Add olive oil and sear short ribs on all sides until browned, then set aside.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot, sauté until softened (3-5 minutes).
  4. Stir in beef broth, tomato paste, thyme, and bay leaf.
  5. Return short ribs to pot, ensuring they are covered with liquid.
  6. Cover and transfer to preheated oven at 325°F (165°C).
  7. Cook for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours until meat is tender and falling off the bone.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy each delicious bite.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, cook the ribs ahead of time and reheat before serving. Use high-quality beef broth for best results.
