Delicious, succulent beef short ribs cooked in a Dutch oven for a melt-in-your-mouth experience.
Ingredients
- 4 pounds beef short ribs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Preheat Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Season short ribs with salt and pepper.
- Add olive oil and sear short ribs on all sides until browned, then set aside.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot, sauté until softened (3-5 minutes).
- Stir in beef broth, tomato paste, thyme, and bay leaf.
- Return short ribs to pot, ensuring they are covered with liquid.
- Cover and transfer to preheated oven at 325°F (165°C).
- Cook for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours until meat is tender and falling off the bone.
- Serve hot and enjoy each delicious bite.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, cook the ribs ahead of time and reheat before serving. Use high-quality beef broth for best results.
