Description

A warm and fragrant focaccia infused with garlic and rosemary, perfect as a side dish or standalone snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and press it into a greased baking sheet. Allow it to rest for 20 minutes.
  7. Using your fingers, make dimples all over the surface of the dough.
  8. In a small bowl, combine minced garlic with olive oil and brush it over the dough. Sprinkle with rosemary and coarse sea salt.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, let your dough rise in a warm environment and do not rush the baking process.
