Description
A warm and fragrant focaccia infused with garlic and rosemary, perfect as a side dish or standalone snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh rosemary, chopped
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Punch down the dough and press it into a greased baking sheet. Allow it to rest for 20 minutes.
- Using your fingers, make dimples all over the surface of the dough.
- In a small bowl, combine minced garlic with olive oil and brush it over the dough. Sprinkle with rosemary and coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For best results, let your dough rise in a warm environment and do not rush the baking process.
