Description

A comforting dish of Irish cabbage and potatoes, perfect for bringing families together.


Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions or bacon for garnish


Instructions

  1. Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot.
  2. Add the diced potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped cabbage to the pot and cook for another 5-7 minutes until both vegetables are tender.
  4. Drain the vegetables and return them to the pot.
  5. Add butter, salt, and pepper, and mash gently until combined.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with green onions or bacon if desired.
