Description

Discover how to make a delicious hot honey grilled cheese with this easy recipe. Learn the secrets to creating the perfect gooey and flavorful sandwich!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices sourdough bread (180g)
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) salted butter
  • 115g Gouda cheese, grated (a little over half a wedge)
  • 1 tsp (5ml) chili oil
  • 2 tsp (10ml) honey

Instructions

  1. Position the grated Gouda cheese on one piece of sourdough and sprinkle with chili oil to taste, depending on your preference for spiciness. Cover with the second slice of sourdough.
  2. Melt half of the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, place the sandwich in the pan and move it slightly to soak up the butter. Spread the remaining butter on the sandwich’s upper slice.
  3. Allow the sandwich to cook for several minutes on both sides until the bread achieves a crispy, golden exterior and the cheese is fully melted.
  4. Take the sandwich off the heat and set it on a cutting board. Gently open the sandwich and drizzle honey inside. Close it back up and cut it in half before serving.

Notes

  • Add extra chili oil to the Gouda for a spicier flavor.
  • Use high-quality sourdough bread for the best taste and texture.
  • Drizzle honey inside the sandwich for a sweet contrast to the savory cheese.
