Delicious honey mustard chicken sliders featuring crispy chicken and a sweet and tangy sauce, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 12 slider buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese, quartered
- Lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and pickle chips for optional toppings
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken pieces as directed, cutting them into slider-sized portions.
- Set up the breading station with the three dishes as outlined.
- Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, then dip in the beaten eggs, and coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently.
- Let the breaded chicken rest on a plate or baking sheet for 10-15 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Fry each piece of chicken, cooking for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Remove chicken with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- In a medium bowl, mix together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for the honey mustard sauce. Adjust seasonings to taste.
- Lightly toast the slider buns if desired.
- Spread the sauce on both halves of each bun, add a piece of fried chicken, a quarter slice of cheese, and any optional toppings before assembling the sliders.
Notes
Allow the honey mustard sauce to refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving to enhance flavors.
