Description

Delicious honey mustard chicken sliders featuring crispy chicken and a sweet and tangy sauce, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 slider buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, quartered
  • Lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and pickle chips for optional toppings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken pieces as directed, cutting them into slider-sized portions.
  2. Set up the breading station with the three dishes as outlined.
  3. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, then dip in the beaten eggs, and coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently.
  4. Let the breaded chicken rest on a plate or baking sheet for 10-15 minutes.
  5. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry each piece of chicken, cooking for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. Remove chicken with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. In a medium bowl, mix together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for the honey mustard sauce. Adjust seasonings to taste.
  9. Lightly toast the slider buns if desired.
  10. Spread the sauce on both halves of each bun, add a piece of fried chicken, a quarter slice of cheese, and any optional toppings before assembling the sliders.

Notes

Allow the honey mustard sauce to refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving to enhance flavors.
