Description

Discover how to make mouthwatering Honey Garlic Glazed Chicken with this easy recipe. Learn the secret to a sticky, sweet, and savory glaze that will have everyone asking for seconds.

Ingredients

  • – 500g / 1 lb chicken breast, boneless and skinless (2 pieces)
  • – Salt and pepper
  • – 1/4 cup flour (60 ml)
  • – 3 1/2 tbsp (50g) unsalted butter (or 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil)
  • – 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • – 1 1/2 tbsp (23 ml) apple cider vinegar (or white or other clear vinegar)
  • – 1 tbsp (15 ml) soy sauce, light or all purpose
  • – 1/3 cup honey (80 ml)

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken breasts horizontally to form four fillets. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Spread flour in a shallow bowl. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour, shaking off the excess.
  3. Heat most of the butter in a large frying pan over high heat, reserving about a teaspoon for later use.
  4. Place the chicken in the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until it turns golden brown. Flip and cook the opposite side for an additional minute.
  5. Reduce the heat slightly to medium-high.
  6. Create a small space in the pan, add the garlic, and top with the remaining butter. Stir the garlic briefly once the butter has melted.
  7. Pour in the vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Stir or shake the pan to mix everything. Let the sauce come to a simmer and cook for about 1 minute until it thickens a bit.
  8. Turn the chicken pieces to ensure they are fully coated in the sauce. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a bit of water and stir.
  9. Immediately remove from heat. Serve the chicken on plates and pour the remaining sauce over the top.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, use olive oil instead of butter.
  • Enhance the flavor by swapping apple cider vinegar with balsamic vinegar.
  • Adjust the sweetness level to your liking by adding more or less honey.
