Description

A nostalgic homemade strawberry pudding that combines fresh strawberries with a creamy, rich texture, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries and 1/4 cup sugar. Let sit for 15 minutes to release juices.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, cornstarch, salt, and remaining sugar.
  3. Pour the milk mixture into the saucepan with the strawberries. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and butter.
  5. Pour into serving dishes and chill in the refrigerator until set.
  6. Serve cold.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider infusing the milk with mint leaves before mixing. Use ripe strawberries for the best taste.
